Albion is a city in Calhoun County, situated about halfway between Battle Creek and Jackson along Interstate 94. This historical city is perhaps best known for Albion College, a liberal arts institution that plays a significant role in the community’s cultural and economic life. The downtown area, particularly along Superior Street, is rich in 19th-century architecture and features an array of shops, cafes, and art galleries. The Kalamazoo River runs through the city, providing a scenic backdrop and recreational opportunities such as fishing and kayaking. The Albion River Trail is a popular greenway that connects several parks, including Victory Park with its well-known water park and bandshell. Major thoroughfares in the city include Michigan Avenue (M-99), which leads to Homer and Hillsdale to the south, and North Eaton Street, which runs northward toward I-94 and provides access to shopping centers and industrial areas.
