Three Rivers is located in St. Joseph County and is notable for the confluence of the St. Joseph, Rocky, and Portage Rivers, hence its name. A significant road that runs through Three Rivers is U.S. Route 131, connecting it to larger cities like Kalamazoo to the north and the Michigan-Indiana border to the south. The city is home to Scidmore Park, a local favorite featuring a petting zoo, walking trails, and canoe launches into the Rocky River. The Riviera Theatre on North Main Street is an iconic venue for concerts and other performances, while Armstrong Park hosts outdoor summer concerts. Three Rivers is also known for its annual Water Festival, which features parades, car shows, and firework displays. For education, the city is served by the Three Rivers Community Schools district.
